AYR INTERNATIONAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT THE SCOTLAND CUP 23 - 26 MAY 2008. Ayr is a fast growing town on the shores of the Firth of Clyde. Its population is well served in its busy town centre full of well-known shops and acclaimed restaurants. To the visitor its fame is built around the name of Scotland's poet Robert Burns, born in Ayr and remembered at many buildings associated with his life and his work. Few poets have impacted the world like him with Burns Night celebrated from Japan to Alaska. NOW IN ITS 31ST YEAR Probably Britain's longest surviving youth soccer event, The Scotland Cup is recognized as an excellent tournament that has welcomed many players who are now big names in the game. It is played at the beautiful Rozelle Estate with an opening and finals at the Dam Park Stadium. Its timing suits many teams who are either seeking a highlight to end their season or an opportunity to test their team for summer tournaments.
